This smoothie is packed full of nutrition and will leave you charged up feeling ready and fueled for your day! Feel free to use this recipe as a guideline and swap in any fresh seasonal fruits or greens.
Ingredients:
4 cups or more of any fresh leafy green tightly packed such as kale or spinach
1 green apple, cored
1 cup frozen pineapple, peach or mango
1 frozen banana
1 thin slice fresh ginger- thicker if you like it spicy
1 thin slice fresh turmeric root
1/4 of a fresh lemon with skin
¼ cup of flax meal or 2 TBSP chia seeds soaked in 1/2 cup of water
Directions:
Add all ingredients to blender. Fill with filtered water to the halfway mark and blend. Add any amount of additional water to adjust thickness.
Notes: If fruit is not frozen, add one cup of ice cubes to blender.
Enjoy immediately with a handful of nuts to incorporate some chewing for better digestion.
